First project!

Niall Horan Typography

This was my First project in Art 2. I had a lot of fun making it. It took a long time, but I think it all paid off because it's definitely my favorite piece that I have done. I created a person out of newspaper.

Typography - 

First I found the person I was going to make - Niall Horan - and found a picture of him that I would like to go off of and printed in black and white (to help with matching the newspaper words with the shading of the picture)    

Second I rounded up as many newspapers as possible (trust me you will need them)

Third I sketched out the picture of Niall that I printed out on a large piece of paper (don't go into too much detail it will just be covered up anyway)

Fourth I went through the magazines, found, and cut out words that were related to or described the person I was making (It was fun, but crazy trying to cut out so many things)

Fifth I decided to take everything I cut out and put them in small piles based on the shading of the words (some are darker than other) (you don't have to do this, but it really helps)

Sixth I took the words and placed them on the paper where I think they would fit (Where the shading of the colors suited the shading on the printed picture)

Seventh once it looked right I glued it on there (Don't think this will take like five minutes, it's a long process and took me about two - three weeks)

Eighth I decided to not make his eyes from newspaper, instead I painted them to look like his normal eyes (I essentially tried to personalize it and make it look more colorful)

And that was how I made my Typography. It was crazy fun and turned out pretty nice, so if you decide to do it then I hope you find it as fun as I did.
